Belarus, UK discuss cooperation in international organizations

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) – Belarus-UK cooperation in international organizations was discussed at the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Sergei Aleinik with Minister of State for the Commonwealth and United Nations at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Baron Ahmad of Wimbledon, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the UN agenda. Special focus was on the coordination of international efforts to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals taking into account the Regional SDG Coordination Leaders Forum recently held in Minsk.

Sergei Aleinik thanked the British side for the humanitarian assistance to Belarus to mitigate the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
