Belarus to host UNDG advisory mission

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – Belarus will host an advisory mission of the United Nations Development Group (UNDG). Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and UN Resident Coordinator/UNDP Resident Representative in Belarus Sanaka Samarasinha discussed preparations for the mission on 28 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vladimir Makei and Sanaka Samarasinha exchanged opinions on a number of matters. Special emphasis was placed on the cooperation to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

“The parties discussed preparations for an advisory mission of the United Nations Development Group that will evaluate the prospects for joint work to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals at the national level,” the ministry said.

A number of practical matters concerning the UN technical assistance for Belarus was discussed in the context of the implementation of the UN Development Assistance Framework for Belarus for 2016-2020.
