MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly's Special Representative for Eastern Europe Kent Harstedt is expected to visit Belarus on 21-24 January, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 18 January.
The official noted: “It is his first visit to Belarus in the capacity of the special representative. Meetings will focus on discussing OSCE ODIHR recommendations on improving the election process in Belarus.”
Kent Harstedt is expected to meet with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina, top Belarusian parliamentarians.
While in Belarus the OSCE PA special representative is also expected to visit the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hi-Tech Park, and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
