Belarus to attend review meeting of Nuclear Safety Convention contracting parties in Vienna

MINSK, 23 March (BelTA) – Belarus will attend the seventh review meeting of the Nuclear Safety Convention contracting parties in the headquarters of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria, BelTA learned from Dmitry Mironchik, Head of the Information Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The review meeting is scheduled to take place on 27 March — 7 April. The Belarusian delegation will include representatives of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, nuclear industry institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the permanent delegation of Belarus to Vienna.

As part of the review meeting delegations of the countries parties to the Nuclear Safety Convention will present and defend reports on fulfilling the Convention. Conclusions about the reports will be discussed later on during the plenary session. The Belarusian report will be presented and defended on 31 March.
