Belarus, South Africa discuss ways to intensify cooperation

MOSCOW, 10 November (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Russia Nomasonto Maria Sibanda-Thusi on 10 November to discuss ways to step up the bilateral cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

“The parties discussed the opportunities for bolstering cooperation in different fields taking into account the work of the Belarusian-South African commissions and committees on cooperation and the development of the legal framework. Besides, they exchanged views on intensification of the political dialogue between the two countries, including through exchanges of visits at different levels,” the press service noted.

The diplomatic relations between Belarus and the Republic of South Africa were established on 4 March 1993. In 2014 the bilateral trade made up $60 million.
