Belarus, Slovakia to consider simplification of visa procedures

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – The Belarus-Slovakia ministerial consultations in Minsk will discuss the development of cooperation between Belarus and the European Union and the possibility of simplifying visa procedures, spokesperson for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told journalists on 26 November, BelTA has learned.

Consular matters will be discussed on 27 November. Other items on the agenda include the development of the legal framework regulating consular activity, the legal status of Belarusian citizens on the territory of Slovakia and the legal status of Slovaks in Belarus. The parties will consider simplification of visa procedures and discuss other matters of mutual interest.

The Belarusian and Slovak delegations will be led by heads of the Consular Departments of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs.

Minsk will host the Belarus-Slovakia ministerial consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs on 30 November. The Belarusian delegation will be headed by Alena Kupchyna, the Slovak delegation – by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Igor Slobodnik. The parties are expected to discuss the whole range of Belarus-Slovakia relations and ways to step up cooperation between Belarus and the EU.
