Belarus, Slovakia outline cooperation areas

MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia have outlined areas of trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On 19-20 October Bratislava played host to the 13th meeting of the Belarusian-Slovakian joint commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation that was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Evgeny Shestakov and State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of Slovakia Rastislav Chovanec. Taking part in the meeting were representatives of the government bodies, academic and business circles of the two states.

The parties discussed cooperation in manufacturing, medicine and pharmaceutics, science and technology, energy and waste management, the credit and financial sector. The sides signed a protocol to lay down the reached agreements and also a plan of action on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus and Slovakia's Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing for 2018-2020.
