Belarus, Slovakia agree to continue dialogue at various levels

MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Slovakia have agreed to continue an active dialogue at various levels. The relevant statement was made by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei after negotiations with Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei said that during the negotiations the sides discussed a wide choice of matters and agreed to continue the active dialogue at various levels between various governmental and non-governmental structures.

Vladimir Makei stated that relations between Belarus and Slovakia develop dynamically. The sides have arranged a number of mutual high-level visits recently. Work in this avenue of cooperation will continue.

Vladimir Makei said: “Trade and economic cooperation is the key avenue of our interaction. We have agreed to continue working together to bolster mutual trade and facilitate the implementation of joint economic projects.”

In particular, Belarus and Slovakia intend to cooperate in power engineering, pharmaceutics, information technologies, mechanical engineering, and nuclear industry.

Apart from that, the negotiations touched upon the advancement of relations between Belarus and the European Union as well as interaction within the framework of international organizations.
