Belarus seeks to strengthen cooperation with Namibia in different fields

MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus seeks to develop cooperation with Namibia in different fields, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei specified that Belarus is interested in such areas as politics, trade, economy and education.

He pointed out that the visit of Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah to Belarus is the first high-level visit in the history of bilateral relations. This means that today the countries pay great attention to the development of fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation. “I am confident that your visit will be aimed at specific results and will mark an important page in our relations,” Vladimir Makei emphasized.

The parties have plans to sign a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries after the talks in Minsk. Vladimir Makei noted that it is necessary to fix the time and place for the first round of political consultations.

For her part, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah thanked the Belarusian side for the hospitality and the support with preparing the eventful program of the visit. “My visit is aimed at strengthening the bilateral relations between the countries,” she said and stressed Namibia's eagerness to develop its relations with Belarus in different areas.
