MOGILEV, 12 October (BelTA) – One can say the Union State of Belarus and Russia is a golden standard of integration. The statement was made by Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko during the fifth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Mogilev on 12 October, BelTA has learned.
Valentina Matviyenko emphasized that interregional cooperation is not some trend enforced by the higher-ups. Contrariwise, relations between the regions of Belarus and Russia have evolved naturally over a lengthy period of time.
Valentina Matviyenko stated that while the world is in turmoil, Russia and Belarus remain key and predictable partners for each other. “Our union can definitely be called the golden standard of integration, the way things are done,” she said.
It was noted that Belarus and Russia face common tasks starting with economic development and ending with raising living standards. In turn, interregional cooperation is viewed as a key factor of integration and Union State development.
Belarusian and Russian companies have solid ties in the area of manufacturing cooperation and implement joint projects in various spheres. “I am convinced that in order to reach new manufacturing cooperation standards we should pay more attention to analyzing the manufacturing capabilities of the regions of our countries,” added the Russian senator.
