Belarus-Russia cooperation prospects discussed in Almaty

ALMATY, 2 February (BelTA) – Belarus' Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov met with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev in Almaty on 2 February, BelTA has learned.

“Since our last meeting in Gomel in December 2017, a number of things have developed which, I think, we should discuss and give an impetus to the solution of certain issues,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

In his words, Belarus and Russia have good prospects for further development of trade and economic relations. “In 2017 both the countries showed positive dynamics. We have a potential to do more,” the prime minister said.

Dmitry Medvedev expressed readiness to discuss the current matters.

Andrei Kobyakov is in Almaty, Kazakhstan on a working visit on 1-2 February. On 2 February, he is expected to attend a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.
