Belarus-Russia cooperation in agriculture discussed in Moscow

MOSCOW, 19 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Nikolai Fedorov, First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia, on 19 April to discuss Belarus-Russia cooperation in agriculture, the press service of the diplomatic mission told BelTA.

“The parties discussed the pressing issues of Belarus-Russia cooperation. Special attention was paid to the ways of enhancing Belarus-Russia trade and economic cooperation in agriculture, developing the agricultural industries of the two countries and strengthening the Belarus-Russia Union State food security,” the Embassy noted.

The parties also expressed satisfaction with the current level of Belarus-Russia inter-parliamentary cooperation. The forums of regions of Belarus and Russia held under the aegis of the upper houses of the parliaments and with the participation of the heads of state were cited as an example of an effective tool of promoting bilateral cooperation.

“The parties also stressed that the constructive inter-parliamentary dialogue is a great contribution to the Belarus-Russia cooperation on the whole,” the press service added.
