Belarus PM to visit Slovakia 27-28 April

MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Belarus Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov will pay an official visit to Slovakia on 27-28 April, spokesman for the Belarusian prime minister Vladislav Sychevich told BelTA.

The Belarusian head of government is set to hold talks with Chairman of the Slovakian Government Robert Fico, attend the opening of the Belarusian-Slovakian business forum in Bratislava, meet with representatives of Slovakian big companies, and visit the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant.

In 2016 the trade between Belarus and Slovakia totaled $162.4 million (95.7% to 2015). Exports to Slovakia made up $69.8 million (75.5%), while imports reached $92.6 million (119.8%). Last year Slovakia ranked 24th in the list of Belarus' foreign trade partners. Belarus exports to Slovakia medical products, oil products, polyamide plastics, synthetic thread, wood chip boards, plywood and other products. Belarus imports Slovakian industrial equipment, ferrous-metal products, cars and spare parts to them, plastic products, wrapping products, and other goods. In January-February 2017 the trade between the two countries totaled $20.1 million (110.3% to the same period in 2016). In 2016 Slovakia invested $0.9 million in the Belarusian economy, including $0.7 million in FDI. In Belarus there are 12 joint ventures and seven companies with the Slovakian capital participation.
