MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – The House of Representatives plans to hold three parliamentary hearings in 2018, Speaker of the lower house Vladimir Andreichenko said at the meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives on 31 January, BelTA has learned.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, this year the MPs will closely monitor the existing legislation. First of all, the matter is about three parliamentary hearings. “We will hold the parliamentary hearing on the improvement of the country's power engineering industry in June, and on the ways to improve the investment climate and the development of the national education system at the autumn session,” the speaker said.

He stressed that the hearings should be thoroughly prepared and, above all, should have practical results in the form of recommendations which may be taken into account as the relevant laws are finalized. The speaker added that the same approach should be applied to the organization of seminars, roundtables, and on-site sessions. Around 50 such events have been scheduled.
