SAINT PETERSBURG, 16 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Pakistan will expand the legal framework of cooperation. The statement was made at the meeting of Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich with Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Mian Raza Rabbani on the sidelines of the 137th IPU Assembly in Saint Petersburg on 14 October, BelTA has learned.
Belarusian and Pakistani MPs meet on a regular basis. “It shows that we have many common interests, and we are working within the framework of bilateral relations and in the international format rather successfully,” the chairman of the Council of the Republic said. He thanked his Pakistani colleague for the consistent and vigorous efforts to enhance the Belarusian-Pakistani cooperation. “I am very grateful to you for the invitation to visit your country. I think that we will determine the dates in the near future. Besides, it is essential to work out a certain roadmap of parliamentary cooperation priorities,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
He believes that the countries managed to develop a rather good legal framework of cooperation. Belarus, in turn, tried to ratify all the agreements requiring the fulfillment of interstate procedures on time. “I think that we will expand the legal framework and create favorable conditions for business circles and humanitarian contacts,” the chairman of the Council of the Republic said.
Mian Raza Rabbani remarked that the relations between the two countries are increasingly vibrant. The chairman of the Senate of Pakistan added that he hopes for certain progress in education. “The next objective is to handle issues in the bilateral trade because the tasks set for our governments have not been fulfilled yet,” he added.
