Belarus, Pakistan consider setting up high-tech joint ventures

MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Pakistan Andrei Yermolovich met with Pakistani State Minister for Science and Technology Dostain Khan Domki, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy.

“The parties reviewed the status and prospects for the development of science, technology and innovations in Belarus and Pakistan, the organization of joint ventures to manufacture high-technology goods and outlined the areas of mutual cooperation in the field of technology transfer,” the embassy said.

The parties also discussed the status of implementation of the decisions of the second meeting of the joint Belarusian-Pakistani commission for cooperation in science and technology held in Islamabad in October 2016 and the agenda of the third meeting due in Minsk before the end of the year.

It was noted that the Belarusian-Pakistani center for coordination of cooperation in science and innovations plays a special role in the development of bilateral cooperation in science. The center was opened a year ago on the sidelines of the second official visit the Belarusian head of state to Pakistan.
