Belarus, Norway complete negotiations on Belarus' WTO accession

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) - The protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations on market access for goods and services between Belarus and Norway in the framework of Belarus' accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) was signed in Geneva, BelTA learned from the Belarus' Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

On behalf of Belarus the document was signed by Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other International Organizations in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich, on behalf of Norway by the Permanent Representative to the WTO Harald Neple.

Yuri Ambrazevich expressed hope that the signing of the protocol would not only facilitate Belarus' early accession to the WTO but would also be an additional incentive for further expansion of trade and investment cooperation between Belarus and Norway.

The agreement on the completion of negotiations with Norway, that were launched in 2005, was achieved during the visit of the delegation of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Minsk in November 2017.

Norway is the 14th WTO member state, with which Belarus has signed the protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations on its accession to the WTO.
