Belarus, Moldova mull over joint venture or consortium in road construction

CHISINAU, 22 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Moldova shared their experiences in the field of road construction and discussed the possibility of setting up a joint venture or a consortium for reconstruction and construction of roads and bridges in Moldova on 21 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Moldova.

Relevant issues were discussed during the talks between a Belarusian delegation and representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure and the State Administration of Roads of Moldova, and also during the workshop on exchange of experiences in road construction.

On behalf of Belarus the events were attended by representatives of the research, engineering and road building organizations BeldorNII, Belgiprodor and Belavtodor and OAO Mahina-TCT, a producer of road construction materials. The delegation is in Moldova on a visit on 19-22 April. The events were also attended by Belarus Ambassador to Moldova Sergei Chichuk.

The Belarusian delegation made a presentation of technological and industrial potential of Belarus in the field of design and construction of roads and bridges, and also innovative developments in road-building materials.

Members of the Belarusian delegation got familiar with the plan of action to the strategy for the development of transport and infrastructure of Moldova and visited road construction enterprises.

The parties outlined the areas of joint cooperation, considered the participation of Belarusian R&D, design and road-building companies in the design, construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges in Moldova, and also the setting up of a joint venture or a consortium.
