MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast of Belarus would like to twin with Pichincha Province, Ecuador. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus' Ambassador to Ecuador Igor Poluyan and Pichincha Province prefect, Chairman of the Consortium of Autonomous Provincial Governments of Ecuador Gustavo Baroja, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
“The parties discussed the promising areas of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Pichincha Province, first of all in agriculture and processing industry. An agreement was reached to organize a visit for a delegation of the prefecture to Belarus and consider the issue of signing a twinning agreement between Pichincha Province of Ecuador and Minsk Oblast of Belarus,” the embassy said.
During the meeting Igor Poluyan presented the economic, industrial, agricultural, sci-tech, educational and export potential of Belarus.
