MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Belarus views the Venezuelan Constitutional Assembly election on 30 July as the eagerness of the Venezuelan society and the authorities to take necessary measures to resolve the country's crisis, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik said in an interview with the Latin American TV channel Telesur, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The Republic of Belarus is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela. We see the Constitutional Assembly election on 30 July as an eagerness of the Venezuelan society and the authorities to take every necessary measure in order to overcome the crisis in the country,” said Dmitry Mironchik.
“We are convinced that any situation in the society should be addressed only through a peaceful dialogue within the legal framework and the Constitution, without fueling tensions and provoking clashes that can lead to human losses,” he said.
According to the ministry, the Venezuelan people are politically conscious and are able to deal with the problems in a democratic way, without any interference from outside. “It has been repeatedly stressed that Belarus views a policy of sanctions as futile and speaks against any unilateral sanctions in respect to sovereign states,” Dmitry Mironchik said.More about Politics
