MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) - The incident with the Russian military plane downed by the Turkish air force causes deep regret and grave concern, spokesman for the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Mironchik told BelTA when asked about Belarus' reaction to the incident.
"Such tragic and very dangerous incidents cause deep regret and grave concern. Especially when they occur in the region where the bloody armed conflict has been going on for a period of several years, and when the parties to such incidents are our brotherly Russia and friendly Turkey,” said the spokesman.
“This dramatic turn of events was not in the interest of any of the countries involved and may entail political consequences for the common cause of the international community in combating international terrorism,” Dmitry Mironchik said.
"Such situations require restraint, joint work to de-escalate the situation and clarify all the details of the incident in order to avoid them in the future," he added.
