Belarus' MFA discusses relations with Europe, Middle East

MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – Belarus' Ministry of Foreign Affairs received copies of credentials from the new ambassadors of Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan on 24 September, BelTA learned from the ministry's press service.

The ambassadors who begin their tour of duty in Belarus met with Belarus' Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko. The deputy minister and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Portugal in Russia and concurrently to Belarus Paul Viseu Pinheiro discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation in a number of areas, including in economy. The parties expressed a mutual interest in strengthening the Belarusian-Portuguese relations, the press service said.

Oleg Kravchenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Russia and concurrently to Belarus Mustafa Mujezinovic talked about promising areas of bilateral cooperation in various avenues of mutual interest. The diplomats welcomed a high level of the ministerial dialogue. Particular consideration was given to the ways of expanding economic interaction.

When meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Jordan to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Amjad Odeh Adaileh, Oleg Kravchenko expressed hope that the diplomat will make a great contribution to the promotion of bilateral cooperation. The parties discussed the status and prospects of interaction, reaffirmed their interest and willingness to intensify the high-level political dialogue. The parties also recognized the need to further strengthen the legal framework of bilateral relations, the ministry noted. Besides, the diplomats agreed to continue working on harmonizing the date of a meeting of the Belarus-Jordan commission on trade and economic cooperation.
