Belarus, Israel discuss cooperation in trade, economy

MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel Vladimir Skvortsov met with Ms Sofa Landver, Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, the co-chair of the Belarus-Israel joint committee on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy.

The meeting was also attended by Mr Yaakov Livne, Director of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's Eurasia I department.

“The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the bilateral agenda, the status of implementation of the agreements reached during the fourth session of the Belarus-Israel joint committee on trade and economic cooperation and the preparation of the fifth session of the Committee due in Minsk in 2017,” the Embassy informed.

The parties also discussed various areas of inter-agency cooperation, including the cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries in the form of expert consultations on foreign policy, legal framework and consular issues.

Special attention was paid to the organization of the events to mark the 25th Anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Israel in May 2017.
