Belarus, Iran step up parliamentary cooperation

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Belarus' National Assembly and the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran are intensifying cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Council of the Republic.

A Belarusian parliamentary delegation headed by Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich is in Iran on an official visit. Speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian Parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich met with Chairman of the Islamic Consultative Assembly Ali Larijani to discuss the prospects of development of Belarusian-Iranian inter-parliamentary dialogue, the ways of improving the legal framework of the cooperation, including the promotion of trade and economic ties. Interaction in the international parliamentary organizations was also on the agenda of the meeting.

Mikhail Myasnikovich and Ali Larijani signed a memorandum of cooperation between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
