Belarus, India review status of implementation of joint projects

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena on 24 February to review the status of implementation of the joint trade, economy and investment projects, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed a wide range of items on the bilateral and international agenda and matters related to the organization of joint events in 2017,” the press service said.

The website of the Belarusian Embassy in India indicates that the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries has been growing rapidly over the past ten years. The cooperation priorities include manufacturing industry, joint projects in science, technology and pharmaceutical industry, and also investment cooperation.

“As for the prospects of the bilateral Belarusian-Indian cooperation, we can, first of all, talk about projects beyond the scope of trade relations. These include establishment of new joint ventures, strengthening of cooperation in education, extraction of mineral resources, and mutual export of services,” the website reads.
