Belarus in favor of balanced approach to international issues

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - Belarus has been pursuing a peaceful foreign policy and advocates a balanced approach to addressing international issues, dean of the Faculty of International Relations at Belarusian State University, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Viktor Shadursky noted during the 75th conference of students and post-graduate students of Belarusian State University, BelTA has learned.

The professor stressed that the present international situation is turbulent; the challenges and threats are acquiring new forms. In these circumstances, the stability in Belarus and its peace initiatives are very important, among other things, for the region. He noted that it is young people who will be building the future of the country and implementing its foreign political and foreign economic policies.

The conference features 67 sections and about 700 reports. This attests to a big interest in international issues on the part of students and young scientists. The professor said that the student conference can help crystallize the ideas and innovations which can be put into practice in the future.

The conference highlights the issues such as the foreign policy of Belarus, the states of East, Central and South Asia in the international relations, political transformations in the Near and Middle East, global challenges of international policy and security.

On 18 April the BSU Faculty of International Relations launched the Week of Student Science that will last through 24 April. The event will include a number of meetings, roundtables and scientific presentations.
