Belarus, Georgia to step up cooperation between foreign ministries

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) – The ministers of foreign affairs of Belarus and Georgia have agreed to expand cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze at Georgia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 22 March. They discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation, ways to develop Belarus-Georgia contacts, the progress in the implementation of joint trade and economic projects, and topical issues of interaction in international organizations.

The sides reached an agreement to continue active cooperation at the level of the ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and Georgia, including under the 2018-2019 program of cooperation between the two ministries.
