Belarus' foreign minister meets with new U.S. charge d'affaires to Belarus

MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Charge d'Affaires of the United States to Belarus Jenifer H. Moore on 29 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting took place to mark the start of Jenifer H. Moore's diplomatic mission in Belarus. The parties discussed the state and prospects of the Belarusian-U.S. relations.

The embassy informed that Jenifer H. Moore is a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service. Before arriving in Minsk, she was Deputy Director of the State Department's Office of Southern European Affairs, responsible for U.S. relations with Turkey, Greece, and Cyprus. Ms. Moore has extensive European experience with much of her career having focused on international security cooperation and security sector reform. She previously served as Deputy Director of the State Department's Office of Peacekeeping, Sanctions, and Counterterrorism, Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at U.S. Embassy Tirana, and in political, political-military, and economic positions in U.S. Embassies Ankara, Sarajevo, Baghdad, and Jakarta. Ms. Moore also worked as a Watch Officer in the State Department's Operations Center and as Staff Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs.
