Belarus-EU Coordination Group to meet in Belarus

MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) – The European Union delegation will come to Minsk on 25-17 April to take part in the fifth meeting of the Belarus-EU Coordination Group, BelTA learned from the EU mission in Belarus.

The EU delegation will be headed by Thomas Mayr-Harting, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service. The delegation will consist of representatives of the European External Action Service and the European Commission DGs responsible for the matters of European Neighborhood Policy, energy, finance and customs service.

The Belarusian delegation will be headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko. The delegation will include representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and officials from other ministries and government departments. The meeting will also welcome the representatives of Belarusian non-governmental organizations and the expert community.

The meeting will focus on bilateral priorities of cooperation, interaction within the Eastern Partnership program, and also the matters in economy and finance, trade, transport, custom servile, mobility and technical support.

The first meeting of the Belarus-EU Coordination Group was held in Brussels on 6-7 April 2016. The group meets every two years to examine the Belarus-EU dialogue and agree upon further joint steps.
