Belarus, Cyprus take steps to relax visa requirements

MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - Belarus and Cyprus are taking steps to relax the visa requirements, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This topic was among the issues on the agenda of the Belarusian-Cypriot ministerial consultations on consular issues in Nicosia. The Belarusian delegation was headed by Kirill Dragun, deputy head of the main consular department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Cypriot delegation was led by Dimitris Hatziargyrou, the director of the Schengen, consular and crisis management division at the ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus.

The parties reviewed the cooperation between the consular services of the two countries, discussed the concrete steps to ease the visa requirements between Belarus and Cyprus and also the prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of legal assistance in criminal and civil cases, and consular and legal protection of citizens,” the press service said.

The next round of bilateral consultations on consular issues will be held in the Belarusian capital.
