Belarus' contribution to OSCE PA's work praised as significant

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarus has made a remarkable contribution to the OSCE PA's work, Kent Harstedt, OSCE PA Special Representative for Eastern Europe, Head of the Swedish parliamentary delegation to the OSCE PA, noted as he met with Speaker of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko on 22 January, BelTA informs.

“I would like to thank every member of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to the OSCE PA for their contribution to the assembly's work. Belarus' contribution has been significant both in terms of quantity and quality. We highly appreciate it,” Kent Harstedt said. In his opinion, this contribution grows every year. In general, he added, Belarus and the assembly have a “basis for moving forward”, which envisages an effective and honest exchange of opinions, in particular.

The OSCE special representative also thanked Belarus for the high-level organization of the OSCE PA's Annual Summer Session in Minsk. According to him, the session was productive due to the effort of the organizers.

Kent Harstedt also stressed that he will visit the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Hi-Tech Park, and the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone during his current trip to Minsk. “I am very happy that these events make part of my program. This shows the importance of the economic and business dimensions in our cooperation,” he emphasized.

Kent Harstedt is in Belarus on a visit from 21 to 24 January.
