Belarus, China scrap visas for ordinary citizens

QINGDAO, 10 June (BelTA) – An intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa-free travel for ordinary citizens of Belarus and China has been signed in Qingdao on 10 June, BelTA has learnt.

The document was concluded following the talks between Belarus' President Alexander Lukashenko and China's President Xi Jinping. On behalf of Belarus the document was signed by Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei.

Apart from that, the parties signed a number of other cooperation documents, including an intergovernmental agreement on providing technical and economic aid, a framework agreement on granting Belarus a loan on easy terms to complete the construction of a high-tech full-cycle agro-industrial enterprise, a memorandum of cooperation in developing human potential between Belarus' Economy Ministry and the China International Development Cooperation Agency.

Belarus' Economy Ministry and China's Ministry of Commerce signed a memorandum on the plan of cooperative development based on synchronized strategic programs for medium and long-term perspectives, as well as a protocol of liaison between the State Customs Committee of Belarus and the General Administration of Customs of China on mutual recognition of authorized economic operators.
