Belarus, China approve sci-tech cooperation program for 2019-2020

MINSK, 5 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China have approved the sci-tech cooperation program for 2019-2020, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Beijing.

The document was adopted at the second meeting of the sci-tech cooperation commission of the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee in Beijing on 4 September. The Belarusian delegation was led by Chairman of the State Science and Technology Committee Alexander Shumilin, the Chinese part – by Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zhigang.

The Belarusian delegation comprised heads of the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Stepanov Institute of Physics, the National Scientific and Practical Center of Transfusiology and Medical Biotechnologies and KBTEM-OMO.

Attending the event was Belarus' Ambassador to China Kirill Rudy who voiced some proposals on the intensification of Belarusian-Chinese innovative cooperation.

The participants of the meeting discussed the development of joint innovation infrastructure and new high-tech manufacturing facilities, including on the basis of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone.
