Belarus, Cambodia set to intensify all-round cooperation

MINSK, 28 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Cambodia intend to intensify all-round cooperation. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Ouch Borith, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, discussed the plans as they met on 28 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed prospects for the development of the relations between Belarus and Cambodia in politics, trade and economy, and collaboration in international organizations,” the ministry said.

Vladimir Makei and Ouch Borith expressed mutual interest in further strengthening of all-round cooperation.

The ministry said that Minsk also hosted the first Belarus-Cambodia political consultations. The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. The Cambodian delegation was headed by Ouch Borith.

The parties considered a wide range of matters on the bilateral agenda, including political, trade, economic, and humanitarian cooperation, ways to develop the legislative framework and step up the collaboration in international organizations. Attention was paid to major areas for the near-future development of the bilateral relations.

An agreement was reached to hold another round of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in Cambodia in 2018.
