Belarus, Belgium discuss prospects of cooperation in reaching SDGs

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Belgium have discussed prospects of cooperation in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The matters were discussed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Jean-Arthur Regibeau, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

During the meeting the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Belarus-Belgium cooperation in the area of multilateral diplomacy, primarily in the UN, including in matters relating to the reinforcement of international peace and security, the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, fight against trafficking in persons, and the promotion of human rights.

The sides noted the advisability of advancing the bilateral cooperation on items on the international agenda, which represent a high priority for both countries.
