Belarus, Azerbaijan formalize intent for all-round cooperation at parliamentary level

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) - Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Chairman of the Milli Mejlis Oktay Asadov signed a joint statement of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan following the official visit of the Azerbaijani delegation to Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The MPs formalized their intent to widen and deepen using parliamentary means the interaction between the two countries in trade, economy, culture, science, education and other areas of mutual interest, to initiate the development of interregional links and to provide all-round support to the mechanisms for multifaceted cooperation.

The Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation headed by Oktay Asadov arrived in Belarus on 10 October. The Azerbaijani MPs met with the leadership of the Belarusian Parliament to discuss the development of inter-parliamentary interaction, trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, and other matters. An agreement was reached to establish a science foundation.
