Belarus, Azerbaijan discuss political, economic cooperation

MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Belarus Latif Gandilov in Minsk on 11 January to receive the copies of his credentials, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed a wide range of Belarus-Azerbaijan political and economic cooperation and shared opinions on promising areas of cooperation. In particular, the implementation of long-term joint projects in production and sci-tech cooperation, agriculture, healthcare and sport were discussed,” the press service noted.

The parties agreed that the embassies of the two countries will first of all focus on the implementation of the program of social and economic cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Azerbaijani Republic through 2025. The program was signed during the official visit of the President of Belarus to Azerbaijan in November 2016.
