MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation is attending the Third Review Conference on Small Arms and Light Weapons at the United Nations headquarters in New York, BelTA learned form the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Nikolai Ovsyanko, the Head of the International Security and Arms Control Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, laid out the position of the Republic of Belarus on the main issues of the implementation of the Program of Action to Prevent, Combat And Eradicate the Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All its Aspects.
He also highlighted the practical contribution of the Republic of Belarus to the implementation of technical assistance programs aimed at improving national systems for managing small arms stockpiles and ensuring their effective functioning.
The conference will be running till 29 June.
