Agreement on priorities of Belarus-EU partnership till 2020 soon

MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – We hope that the priorities of Belarus-EU partnership till 2020 will be agreed soon, Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei said when speaking at the Minsk Forum, BelTA has learned.

“We hope that the first joint program document “Priorities of the Partnership”, under which we will work with the EU till 2020, will be approved soon,” Vladimir Makei said.

According to him, the talks with the EU on Belarus' accession to the World Trade Organization have been progressing quite successfully.

Starting this year, the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have been fully working in Belarus. “They show an interest in a number of our major development projects in transport and energy infrastructure, modernization and restructuring of enterprises, small and medium business development,” Vladimir Makei said.

“We can say that the growing dialogue between Belarus and the EU is based on the principle “realism without restrictions”. In other words, there are no taboos in discussions but there is a clear correlation between the desired objective realities and opportunities,” the minister noted.
