The traditional Indian cuisine has been known since ancient times. It is renowned for a great diversity of dishes and cooking styles, encompassing both spicy and amazingly delicate dishes, said Ms Sushma Saxena, the wife of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena. Every Indian region has its own speciality and distinctive ingredients. For instance, in the North of India, it is lentil, Indian bread (Roti), vegetables, cheese, rice, chicken, and lamb (or goat meat). These are the main foods along with such exotic dishes as butter chicken, palak panir, lamb curry, and biriyani. In Southern India, the daily menu includes rice, lentil, vegetables, fish, meat, and sea foods. However, rice is the main food there.
