Party members make up 19.1% of Belarus' new parliament

Members of political parties comprise 19.1% of the new House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina told journalists on 18 November. A total of 110 people were elected in 110 constituencies. “19.1% of them, or 21 people, are members of political parties,” Lidia Yermoshina said. A total of 44 women MPs were elected to the new parliament, they account for 40% of MPs. There are also two MPs under 30 years of age.
