On 20 April the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War played host to a ceremony to mark the Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day. Taking part in the ceremony was Israel's Ambassador to Belarus Alon Shoham who presented diplomas and the Righteous Among the Nations medals to the descendants of the Belarusian citizens who saved Jews during the war.
