Marina Litvinchuk of Belarus finished fourth in the Olympic women's kayak 500m final in Rio. Hungary's Danuta Kozak retained her Olympic K1 500m title with a win in one minute 52.49 seconds, two seconds ahead of Denmark's Emma Jorgensen. Marina Litvinchuk held the lead in the early stages, but was later overtaken by the Hungarian. A photo finish showed the Belarusian crossed the finish line 4th in one minute 54.474 seconds, 0.102 seconds behind the bronze medalist, New Zealand's Lisa Carrington.
