The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Gomselmash will make the first batch of ear corn harvesters Palesse MS6 in 2017.
The Palesse MS6 harvester is designed to gather in ear corn in the fields meant to produce corn seeds. Such harvesters are not manufactured in the CIS states although corn for seeds is grown in Belarus, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine. The market capacity is estimated at about 30 harvesters per annum. Palesse MS6 harvesters are expected to sell well because the Gomselmash harvesters cost half as much as the competitor made by a Western Europe company. Two harvesters are being assembled for a specific customer from Russia.
