The Minsk agreement is an important mechanism for the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Ukraine, Irina Gerashchenko, First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the representative of Kiev in the working group on humanitarian affairs of the Ukraine trilateral contact group, told reporters on 26 August.
