Comet 21P/Giacobini-Zinner made its second-best appearance on 11 September since its discovery in 1900. The comet came closest to both the Earth and the sun on the same day – 10 September 2018 – when the comet swept past Earth at a completely safe distance of 58 million kilometers from our planet.
