The event to celebrate the 215th anniversary of Belarusian-born scientist Ignacy Domeyko took place at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 31 July. Partaking in the event were Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei, top officials of other government bodies and agencies, Ignacy Domeyko's lineal descendants, Belarusian and foreign experts in the scientist's life and legacy, and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Belarus. The ministry hosted an exhibition of photos, archive documents, and portraits of famous Belarusian scientists. A presentation of the Belarusian translation of a book written by Paz Domeyko, Ignacy Domeyko's granddaughter, took place in the ministry, too.
