Belarus and Ecuador have exchanged best practices in combating drug trafficking at a meeting of delegations of the two countries held in Minsk on 17 January as part of the visit of Cesar Navas Vera, Coordinating Minister for Security of Ecuador, to Belarus. The Ecuadorian delegation met with a Belarusian delegation led by Belarusian Deputy Interior Minister Nikolai Melchenko. The parties discussed the terms for a potential partnership in this field. Ecuador is building a system for countering the trafficking of drugs from neighboring countries. In this context, the country is interested in Belarus' experience in fighting illicit drug trafficking.
