The Belarusian national men's table tennis team were off to a good start in the ETTU European Championships Team Qualification securing a solid win over Israel 3-0 in the first qualification game in Group D. Vladimir Samsonov defeated Simon Matton 3-1 before Pavel Platonov edged Michael Tauber 3-2. Alexander Khanin saw off Ben Ari Omri 3-1 to blank Israel. Belarus will next play Croatia on 1 November, Israel on 13 December and wrap up the qualification round with a home game against Croatia on 24 January 2017.
