An anniversary exhibition of the country's oldest artist, Alexander Solovyev, opened in the Vitebsk Art Museum on 13 September to mark the painter's 90th birthday. Alexander Solovyev is a vanguard artist, a member of the Union of Artists of Belarus, and the BSSR Honored Figure of Art.
Alexander Solovyev is a participant of the Great Patriotic War. At the age of 17 he was part of the partisan movement. He has been awarded numerous medals and the Order of the Red Star.
